I love art in many forms because I relate so intimately with many of the fundamental elements of creating an artistic masterpiece. Specifically, I’m referring to such key characteristics as inspiration, technique mastery and the fulfillment achieved and enjoyed upon completing a piece to one’s satisfaction, among others.
There are so many different art forms and creations around the world. What does this mean to you? Perhaps it is contemporary paintings or modern paintings, pop art or clip art, fine art prints or wildlife posters. Can you measure an art work? No, because there is no consensus definition for the term artistic or creative. We all develop our own definition for these terms. Basically, it is one’s personal reaction toward a particular creation. Each of us has our individual perspective for such terms. What one person likes and feels about a type of art in general or a specific piece in particular may be disliked by another. And that’s okay.
If you are able to engage an art lover in conversation, ask him or her about the limitation of art. The most appropriate response, of course, should be that there is no limitation to art. Can you limit your imagination? I think not. No, similarly then, there is no limitation to art. The world over you can find numerous creations by great artists that are still preserved and admired in art galleries and museums. Wherever you may choose to travel in the world today you could find the importance and influence of different traditions and cultures on the creative art works to be found there. You could, in fact, say that art is the imitation of the real world.
If you are really interested in art and would like to buy some pieces of art for decorating your home, a business, or public spaces anywhere, just roam around the world and you will be mesmerized by the creations of the talented artists you’ll find on display there.
You can find many different art forms in an art gallery, to be sure, especially visual arts and paintings. It is especially rewarding to visit a gallery when there is an exhibition. There are many art galleries existing in the modern world but the most famous of them is ‘The Louvre’ in Paris. And the most famous painting in the world, the Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci, is preserved in it. There are other galleries like The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and the National Art Gallery of London that are also very famous. However, it should be emphasized that there are public art galleries everywhere, and hopefully near you, that hold art treasures on display awaiting your discovery.
These traditional art galleries never sell their exotic possessions. Here you can only visit and give a pleasant treat to your eyes. But if you are really interested in buying original art, you need to visit private art galleries. Private art galleries conduct exhibitions periodically every year. They display works of upcoming artists as well as established professional artists. Oil paintings, landscape paintings and flower paintings are some of the common art that you can find at such exhibitions. However, if you want to buy some quality original paintings, you’d be well-advised to get some knowledge about this part of the art world.
Some key things to remember before buying an oil painting are: 1) the canvas used should be of high quality, 2) the oils used should also be of high quality for long-lasting beauty, and 3) if you are buying an oil painting that needs to be delivered, it might arrive rolled up and unframed. In this case you can seek the help of a local framing shop to frame your painting properly.
Unfortunately, there are companies that operate in the business of art knowing and caring little about it. These people will try to sell anything and everything to you. Be aware of such dupes and only buy genuine pieces of art from trustworthy sources.
As I stated in my opening sentence, I love art in many forms and I’m going to focus this weblog on presenting information that I find to be educational, entertaining, helpful and relevant to the arts that I cherish. If your interests and passions for art are similar to mine, I invite you to browse my postings as much and as frequently as you choose to learn and apply and share with others!
Sincerely,
James Nelson
